Hidden Danger of Household Chemicals
By Wendy Van Noy
The average consumer is not aware of the hidden dangers in everyday products they use. More and more money is spent every year on health issues that can be directly tied to the environment. Many products produced today contain varying forms of formaldehyde, which is a known carcinogen. Because of trade laws and product labeling, these products are exempt from being banned from the store shelves. However, the damage they cause is far reaching from various forms of cancer, ADD, ADHD, asthma and many more problems we face today. In fact, some cleaners are among the most toxic products found in the home. Young children can see these products as colorful and enticing due to the package and labeling. If ingested, severe harm can occur, and in some cases even death.
Environmentalists have determined that more harm is done to our oceans from the run off of our use of every day products, than all the oil spills combined. Those toxic chemicals are washed down our drains, and then work their way to the ground water, rivers and eventually to the oceans. The whole ecosystem is being destroyed all along the way. What is going to be left of our earth for our children and grandchildren if we don't do something about this?
The best solution to this problem is to eliminate the toxic chemicals in our homes with safe, all natural products that are friendly with the environment as well as safe for our families. It is imperative that we, as consumers, become educated on the health and environmental hazards of the products on our store shelves.
Let's help make this beautiful earth last a long, long time!
