> Get a Free Maid Service Cost Estimate Factors that Increase the Cost of Maid Services
Here are some items that will factor into the cost of hiring a maid service:
1. The size of your home. The size and the number of rooms and bathrooms in your home will be the main factor in the cost of maid service. If you have rooms, such as guest rooms, extra baths or a formal living room that are not used on a regular basis, consider having them cleaned less frequently, or consider having the house cleaned in sections on a rotating basis. This may reduce the overall cost of maid services.
2. One time cleaning versus regular cleaning. A maid service will often charge more for a one time cleaning than if you are hire them to clean on a regular basis. They may, however, charge more for their initial visit than for subsequent visits.
3. Weekly, biweekly or monthly cleanings? Having your home cleaned on a weekly basis is less expensive than having it cleaned on a biweekly or monthly basis.
4. Are windows included? Most maid services charge extra for windows. Maid services generally include the following: dusting window ledges; cleaning light fixtures, dusting ceiling fans and blinds; dusting baseboards and chair rails; vacuuming upholstered furniture; cleaning glass on entrance and french doors; cleaning sliding doors and tracks; removing cobwebs; emptying wastebaskets and removing trash; scouring and sanitizing bathrooms; picking-up and straightening; cleaning the exterior of kitchen cabinetry and appliances; cleaning kitchen table and counters; sanitizing the kitchen sink; vacuuming and mopping floors; and cleaning mirrors and glass.
5. Equipment and supplies included? Most maid services prefer to use their own equipment and supplies, the cost of which is already built into the price. You may be able to reduce the cost of maid service if you offer to provide these items. This option may be particularly appealing to the service if you live in an apartment or high-rise, and there is a significant distance between the parking and the front door of your home.
6. Pets. Having pets will often increase the cost of maid service. Hair, pet odor and pet stains all require extra time and attention.
7. Allergens. Do you or any member of your family have allergies or special dermatologic issues? The service may charge more for organic or allergy free cleaning products.
